Reading Day

It seems like just yesterday that I was trying to figure out what this fall semester was going to be like...and all of a sudden today is the reading day for this fall semester. Time has flown by. I can hardly believe that it's already December.

December 7th actually...which happens to be a special day for a number of reasons. Someone survived something tragic on this day, I gave my senior recital on this day in 2002, and in 2004 on this day, my beautiful little puppy Lilly was born.

Yep, that's right...today is Lilly's 1st birthday. And in true puppy style, she has managed to do all the things dogs do...sleep, eat, pee, sleep, poop, sleep, play, vomit, sleep, eat, and is currently sleeping some more right next to me on the futon. There was no real birthday celebration - although we did contemplate inviting Olivia and Henry (and of course Melissa and Josh as well) over for dinner. Lilly got a new toy for her birthday which she loves but got a bit too possessive over.

In addition to celebrating with the pooch, I am currently trying to get over a cold. I got a nice sore throat on Saturday night and by Monday I was in full blown cold mode. I think it's on it's way out...which is a good thing.

On Monday night I gave my debut conducting performance at the college level. Well, before you get too excited, I simply conducted a piece in the university choir's holiday concert. How Still He Rests by Brent Pierce - beautiful piece.

I admit I haven't been that great about keeping up with the BLOG, but hopefully next semester I will be a bit better.

I head home to the east coast on December 19th...I'll be back January 7th!!!
